MARCELL MRSAN 004: 2-day Intermediate CAD Pattern Making

This is a two-day intermediate hands-on course for CAD pattern making.

Using the mean form you made with the ruler, or with the basic class, you will then create a digital pattern using the Comelz Caligola4 design software on laptops we will provide during class, in a very hands-on way.

Participants will learn how to create both classic men’s shoes patterns, such as derby and oxford, and athletic sneakers and more. On the second day, Marcell will also do an upper closing demonstration, using the patterns from class,

This course is for intermediate shoemakers/pattern makers who understand pattern making, and have knowledge of illustrator and/or are comfortable with using a computer. 

The software is not something you may purchase on your own, but understanding how to use the software can enhance your pattern making methods and the knowledge will definitely add value to your portfolio, as the biggest footwear companies have been using this software.

This course includes:

• A 250 page printed book on how to use this software

• Upper demonstration using the patterns made in class
